Understanding the difference to optimize cleaning
Those outside the field often tend to confuse the terms sweeping and washing, thinking that they are equivalent processes. Actually, they are two distinct operations, each with a specific purpose. Knowing when to use a sweeper and when to use a scrubber drier, allows you to purchase the right RCM machine to achieve better results, reduce cleaning time and improve operational efficiency.
When is sweeping necessary?
Sweeping means removing dust and small debris from the floor. This process is essential to ensure an environment free of those residues that could compromise the air quality and safety of the work area.
- Manual method: using a hand broom allows you to clean approximately 200-250 m2 per hour, but is not recommended if there are excessive amounts of dust, as it can lift particles into the air instead of removing them.
- Mechanized method: for clear surfaces over 500 m2, the use of a sweeper with a dust suction system is recommended, since it guarantees more effective and faster cleaning.
RCM sweepers collect debris and are equipped with advanced vacuum systems that retain dust and reduce the risk of dispersion, improving air quality and safety for people.
When is it necessary to wash?
Washing means removing adhering dirt from surfaces using water and detergents. This process is particularly suitable for environments where deep cleaning and sanitizing are required.
- Manual method: with a mop or cloth, you can clean 70-100 m2 per hour, but the floor remains wet for at least 15 minutes, increasing the risk of slipping.
- Mechanized method: for clear surfaces over 500 m2, the use of a professional scrubber drier is recommended, since it leaves the floor clean and dry in a single pass, with a much higher performance.
RCM scrubber driers guarantee fast drying, minimizing surface downtime and improving operator safety.
